Rachel H asked:
I’d love to open my own small spa, offering serivces like facials, body masks, aromatherapy and detox all using the Swiss products that I am a consultant for. What does it take to do this? What sort of liscence or degree will I need?

you need to have the money first.. then get all the equiptment you need after you buy the place or have a place to open it up… just make sure you know what your doing
I don’t know the details, but The Salon Professioal Academy offers an esthetics program that I am hoping to take in the next year. I believe they teach you management and salon owner info. Keep me in mind if you do open it up; I would love to work with you!
first figure out how much money you need then triple it. Draw up a business plan that a bank will look at and possibly give you a loan.( even if they don’t, talking to the loan officer will tell you if you have a viable plan, or what’s wrong with your plan)
Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you’ll inevitably have as well as many you haven’t anticipated yet.
— National Cosmetology Association — International Spa Association — Day Spa Association — The Salon Association — Professional Beauty Federation — The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS)
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

HI there good luck but first you need to study hard. You will need to do course to get fully qualified, beauty therapy, manicure, and you will need to do a course on aromatherapy. if and when you do these course and you need some help just ask me I am fully qualified ( been doing beuty since I was 15 and have owned salons since I was 18 ) It may be easier to buy a small salon witha therapist already there.. Oh and another thing you will need to learn is waxing as you can make some extra money in the salon… good luck
